MCA Entrance Exams in India

Aligarh Muslim University conducts its own entrance test for admission to the MCA programme, held at the Aligarh centre.

AP ICET is a state-level entrance test conducted by Andhra University on behalf of APSCHE for admission to MCA and MBA programmes across Andhra Pradesh.

The Joint MCA Entrance Examination (JMEE) is conducted by Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU) for admission to MCA programmes across colleges in Assam.

Admission to BHU's MCA programme is now made through CUET-PG (conducted by NTA) — there is no separate BHU PET for MCA. Under NEP 2020 the programme is now of 2 years (4 semesters).

Banasthali Vidyapith — a women-only institution near Jaipur — admits MCA students through its own Aptitude Test (BUAT).

BIT Mesra conducts its own online entrance test for admission to the MCA programme offered across its campuses (Mesra, Patna, Jaipur, etc.).

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed) University, Pune admits students to its 2-year MCA (and lateral-entry) programme through its own entrance test, BVP B-MAT (earlier B-CAT/BMAT), conducted in computer-based mode.

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) admits MCA students through CUSAT CAT, its common admission test. The MCA programme offers a limited number of seats on campus.

Admission to the MCA programme at the University of Delhi is made through CUET-PG (conducted by NTA). Final allotment is handled via Delhi University's CSAS-PG counselling based on the CUET-PG score.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi admits MCA students primarily on the basis of national-level entrance scores (such as NIMCET / CUET-PG). IPU CET continues to be conducted for various other programmes.

Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi (a deemed-to-be university) admits students to its MCA programme through its own admission process. Check the official admission notices for the current cycle's route and dates.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi admits MCA students through its own entrance test conducted on the JMI admission portal; some PG programmes are filled via CUET-PG.

Admission to JNU's MCA programme is now made through CUET-PG (conducted by NTA), followed by a separate registration on the JNU admission portal. Selection is based on the domain-knowledge section of the CUET-PG score.

Karnataka PGCET is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission to MCA and MBA programmes in Karnataka's universities and affiliated colleges.

KIITEE is the university-level entrance test conducted by KIIT University, Bhubaneswar for admission to its MCA programme (and lateral entry). It is held in multiple phases through the year.

Kurukshetra University (KUK) admits MCA students through its own entrance test, with final selection based on the test score and graduation marks.

MAH MCA CET is conducted by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra for admission to MCA programmes across institutions in Maharashtra.

Admission to MCA programmes in Madhya Pradesh's institutions is handled by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), MP, via the Pre-MCA test followed by online counselling.

NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test) is the national-level entrance exam conducted by the NITs for admission to their 3-year MCA programme. A dozen-plus NITs and several other institutes use the NIMCET score for MCA admission.

G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar admits MCA students through its own university entrance examination.

Panjab University, Chandigarh admits MCA students through PU-CET (PG), its postgraduate common entrance test.

TANCET is conducted by Anna University on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu for admission to MCA (and other PG) programmes in Tamil Nadu institutions.

Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala admits students to its 2-year MCA programme on the basis of merit in qualifying examinations — there is no separate written entrance test.

Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun admits MCA students through the Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE) or on merit at participating institutions.

UPSEE/UPCET has been discontinued. Admission to MCA in AKTU-affiliated colleges of Uttar Pradesh is now made through the CUET-PG score, with seat allotment via UPTAC counselling.

Admission to the MCA programme at VIT (Vellore/Chennai) is through VITMEE — the VIT Master's Entrance Examination conducted by the university.
